By long forbearance a ruler is persuaded, And a gentle tongue breaks a bone.
A soft answer turns away wrath.
The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious.
He who has knowledge spares his words, And a man of understanding is of a calm spirit.
In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise.
He who heeds the word wisely will find good.
He who fears the commandment will be rewarded.
Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad.
The words of a talebearer are like tasty trifles, And they go down into the inmost body.
Cease listening to instruction and stray from the words of knowledge.
